Every letter is end-to-end encrypted on your phone before it ever reaches our servers. The key that decrypts your letters lives in your iPhone's Keychain — not on our servers, not in any backup we control. We cannot read what you write. Neither can anyone else.

And soon, you won't have to take our word for it. Letterss is going open source. The full iOS source — the encryption code, the data flow, every line — will be public on GitHub, so you can audit it, fork it, or just see for yourself how your letters are handled.
